Royal Birkdale No 12

ROYAL BIRKDALE

Royal Birkdale is ranked #17 in Golf Digest's "World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses", has hosted 2 Ryder Cups and 10 Open Championships (most recently in 2017). A bucket list course for fans of the Open Championship, few courses rival Birkdale's history. The fairways are laid out in valleys between some of the most towering dunes in England. No 12 is Birkdale's signature hole and one of the most recognizable holes on the Open Championship rota with bunkers leading up to a green surrounded by dunes covered in deep rough.

ROYAL LYTHAM & ST. ANNES

Royal Lytham & St. Anne's is ranked #48 in Golf Digest's "World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses" and has hosted 11 Open Championships and 2 Ryder Cups. It is unusual in that it is a links course but it is located 1/2 mile inland. The first hole is unique because it's the only opening hole on the Open circuit that is a par 3. A plaque honoring Bobby Jones is displayed on the 17th hole close to where he nailed his second shot from a rough, sandy lie and went on to beat Al Watrous in the 1926 Open.

Prince's Himalayas

PRINCES

Prince's Golf Links is a 27 hole course, comprised of 3 loops of 9 holes, named Himalayas, Dunes, and Shore. In 2017, they hired Martin Ebert to redevelop the Himalayas which included creating a long par 5, a new 2nd tee and a new short par 3. This made the Himalayas a favorite of the 3 loops. In 2020, work was completed on the Shore and Dunes courses with re-bunkering, raised tees and a new par 3. The Dunes & Shore loops make up the "championship" course.
